室外消火栓主要用于向消防車提供消防用水，或在室外消火栓上直接與消防水帶、水槍連接進行滅火，是城市基礎建設的必備消防供水設施。
Outdoor fire hydrants are mainly used to provide fire water to fire trucks, or directly connect to fire hoses and water guns on outdoor fire hydrants for extinguishing fires. They are essential fire water supply facilities for urban infrastructure construction.
（一）系統組成室外消火栓主要組成：本體、彎管、閥座、閥瓣、排水閥、閥桿和消防接口組成，它分為地上式和地下式兩種，地上式上部露出地面，標志明顯，使用方便，地下式安裝于地下，不影響市容。
（1） The outdoor fire hydrant system mainly consists of the main body, bend pipe, valve seat, valve disc, drainage valve, valve stem, and fire interface. It is divided into two types: above ground and underground. The above ground type has an exposed upper part, obvious signs, and is easy to use. The underground type is installed underground without affecting the city's appearance.
（二）布置要求室外消火栓應沿道路鋪設，道路寬度超過60m時，宜兩側均設置，并宜靠近十字路口。布置間隔不應大于120m，距離道路邊緣不應超過2m，距離建筑外墻不宜小于5m、不宜大于150m，距離高層建筑外墻不宜大于40m，室外消火栓數量應按其保護半徑，流量和室外消防用水量綜合確定，每只室外消火栓流量按10--15L/升計算。地上消火栓設置安裝明顯、容易發現，方便出水操作，地下消火栓應當在地面附近設有明顯固定的標志。
（2） The layout requires that outdoor fire hydrants should be laid along the road. When the width of the road exceeds 60m, they should be installed on both sides and close to the intersection. The layout interval should not exceed 120m, the distance from the edge of the road should not exceed 2m, the distance from the exterior wall of the building should not be less than 5m or more than 150m, and the distance from the exterior wall of high-rise buildings should not be more than 40m. The number of outdoor fire hydrants should be determined based on their protection radius, flow rate, and outdoor fire water consumption. The flow rate of each outdoor fire hydrant should be calculated at 10-15L/L. The installation of above ground fire hydrants is obvious, easy to detect, and convenient for water outlet operation. Underground fire hydrants should have clear and fixed signs near the ground.
（三）使用方法消火栓平時關閉，閥瓣將進水口密封，使用時先將消防車吸水管連接口徑100㎜（150㎜）的接口，或將水帶連接口徑65㎜的接口，然而，用專用扳手打開閥門，地下管網的市政供水便流入消火栓，消防車就可直接吸水供水，水帶也能直接出水滅火。使用完畢后，關閉閥門，閥體內的余水可由排水閥自動排盡。
（3） Method of use: The fire hydrant should be closed normally, and the valve disc should seal the inlet. When using, first connect the fire truck's suction pipe to a 100mm (150mm) diameter interface, or connect the water hose to a 65mm diameter interface. However, by using a special wrench to open the valve, the municipal water supply from the underground pipeline network will flow into the fire hydrant, and the fire truck can directly suck water and supply water, and the water hose can also directly discharge water to extinguish the fire. After use, close the valve and the residual water in the valve body can be automatically drained by the drainage valve.
